Thesis Title: In-Situ Characterization of Microstructural Evolution During Simulated Additive Manufacturing in Model Alloys
Degree Plan: Doctorate of Philosophy
Completion: May 2023
CANFSA student since: August 2019
Bio: Brian is a PhD student who started in Fall 2019. He previously earned his MS in MME in Summer 2019 after defending his thesis on laser brazing silicon carbide. His current research project aims to develop a deeper understanding of the solidification behavior and microstructural development during additive manufacturing. When not studying what happens when laser beams impinge on materials, he enjoys literature, puzzles, and a range of other nerdy activities.
